Foo-ey!

*Sigh* Well, last night wuz supposed to be my 2nd trip to see the Foo Fighters....the best alt rock band of the past 12 years or so. Dave, the lead singer and former drummer of NIRVANA is sick and had to postpone the show. Wuz totally bummed, but understanding....especially after reading his post on there website. Dave is the man!!!!!!! No hard feelings what so ever.

Jan 27, 2008 – Message from Dave regarding postponed shows...

Current mood: Dazed

Current temperature: 101.1

Hey everybody.....Laying here in my Nashville hotel room, sick as a dog, but I had to write you all something, because anyone who knows this band knows we RARELY ever cancel gigs. Someone's gotta be pretty thrashed in order for that to happen.

Well........yours truly is down for the count. Big time. The last thing in the world I want to do is jump up on stage and give you guys some half-a** version of what a Foo's show is all about. That's just not fair. And, it would break my heart. Unfortunately, in my current (crappy flu) condition, you wouldn't be getting the show you guys deserve. And, that's the most important thing to me.

You have my word that we'll make it up to you. We always keep those promises. I'm so sorry for any inconvenience. Knowing that you guys will be bummed makes me feel even s**ttier, believe me.

See you soon. Thanks, guys....... Dave

A Historic Weekend

Before i get going...gotta say that Robi's B-Day was a blast. Had yummy dinner and cheesecake. Robi really like all her gifts. MaryJane halped out in the kitchen. She has a little apren that says "Nana's Little Helper". 2 cute.
ok...so we went to the Rogers Historical Museum after lunch on Saturday. It was very small but her and her friends had a big time. Her leader brought her two youngest and another girl from the troop. so there were only 6 of us. they musem had this...well...its like a big doll house, that has all the old'n dayz stuff in it like a phone, wash board and ringer, sewing machine, iron, etc. everything in it is hand on...they even have clothes kids can dress up in. of course this was the girls fav part. however, they seemed to enjoy looking at the exibits as well. they all also got to paint there own old fahioned fish hooks. dont have a picture of M.J.'s, but she did a really great job. Before we left her leader bought them all a pencil sharpener as a suviner. M.J. loves to sharpen pencils and crayons so she was very pleased with this. All in All a great trip and very educational for us both. We spent the before and after playing barbies and doing chores. seriously, we only stopped barbieville long enough to knock out a chore and then it was right back to business. i called it "officail Barbie Day". hehe. a...and yes, mj did all her chores and got her money. good gurl! she even cleaned up her plate at nana's on tuesay. i love it.
Sunday was Church. MaryJane said she learned about Adam and Eve. Shes learned about Genesis and Adam and Eve before , but im sure she got something new out of it. Hung out at the house the rest of the day. Got outside and enjoyed the Beautiful weather. played barbies barbies, prince and princess, and some game where sharks were trying to get us. hehe. later samantha, stephanie, and a little brat kid named nathan came out. they played board games on the porch till dark.

Overall it was a good weekend. Kiddo and I had fun, the HOGS got there 3rd SEC win, and the weather was a bute.

Some Newz is Good Newz

So the big newz from Tuesday with Treehouse and Community Group kick off is.....it they didnt happen. : ( MaryJanes classes were cancelled and although Community group went on, M.J. stayed w/ mommy and i stayed home. So it will be next week before Treehouse and 2 weeks til Community group.

MaryJane and her Mommy are doing a theme Month starting this week. Before we have only have done WeeklyThemes. The theme is Pioneers and MaryJane and Jess say its going good.

didnt see my girl Monday or Tueday so when we got home last night we tore it up. Had a tasty steak dinner then played like crazy. M.J brought back some games we hadne played in a while and one chrismas game. still thinkin bout that i guess. kidz. here is our tea/b-day party. M.J. and i ate everybodys plate and drank all there juice....and we had jsut had dinner no 30 minutes earlier. talk about full. geezzz. before bed it was santas workshop. i make stuffed animals be elves on an assembly line and they make toys sthat MaryJane checks, approving or rejecting. the toys go into a shopping cart, what we call the sled, and we drive it arounmd the house dropping of toys for other sleeping stuffed animals. then we go around and she lays by each stuffed animal, pretending to be the mother, and the kids wake up to see what they got. it to cute and so much fun.

Chillin!

Monday is here...unfortunatly, but getting to blog makes it a little better. Other then a semi-short trip to Fayetteville saturday it was a hide out and stay warm kinda weekend. MaryJane is in girlscouts, if you didnt already know, and she had a metting Friday and great newz. COOKIES!! Yup, tha best part of girlscouts has got to be the cookies. She had some door hangers and i mean as soon as we got home she was ready to make trips to peoples doors. she was so cute and was so excited. We dont know that many people at our apartments, but they got one, a few people we dont know got one, and the office got one, and we got one. hehe. I will make a seperate post tomorrow that has all the details about the cookies in case some of you might like to make a purchase from the cutiest little girlscout there is. : )

So girlscouts trickled into Staurday morning. We played a few games she did at girlscouts, but in place of other kids we used stuffed animals. Didnt work as well w/o other kids, but we had fun with it. Made a trip out and about later in the morning. our first stop was applebee's where some girlscouts were serving breakfast as a fund raiser. We ate pancakes and admired all the crap they have on there walls. Went to Barnes and Noble to read and ended our trip w/ toys r us where we got this beautiful puzzle. Shes been doing 100 piece puzzles for ages now, but thursday and friday at Jess's she did the same 150 piece puzzle 6 times. she was pretty proud of that. so we had to go bigger...300 pieces. we did this one together and it really wasnt that hard. purtty cool i think.

We spent most of the rest of the day playing as usual, but did sprinkle in the new chore list. she had done good all week, but had not gotten any stickers yet because some things have to be done more then once. Saturday the end of the week and the sticker day. she got all 6 stickers. she was amazing. she practicly took over putting away groceries, she was a determined and proficient Cinderella when i came to the dusting, and cleaned her room in record time. She really showed me how much she was in tune w/ things when she came out of her room after getting ready for bed w/ her dirty clothes and put them by the washer. going above and beyond. i am very proud of her!!
Sunday was church. She strutted her other Christmas dress (blue and black) and brought home a poster about helping less fortunate kids overseas. they are going to be making and collecting items to send to the needy children. it will be a very nice ongoing project. MaryJane gave me a record 5 letters today and guess what....she luvs me. What a sweetie she is. Played this game through the day where i was 3 webkinz (2 dogs and a bear) and she was 1 cat. the animals did different tasks to get a prize, which was mostly make-up. the animals did puzzles, played board games, and other activities. MaryJane has quite the imagination.

be back tomorrow w/ cookie info and should be back wednesday as well to talk about M.J.'s first day of Treehouse and our first trip to community group for the spring semester.

MaryJane's Million Dollar Mission

Well, its Friday and its been a very nice week....despite the fridgid temps. burr! Got to spend some extra afternoon time w/ my babygul yesterday and it was nice. Moday after watching just a few minutes of Deal or No Deal before bed MaryJane got the idea to make a game for us to play. that night we made some 5 minute shanty baby cases that she i cut out and she wrote case numbers and amounts on the back off. We played it before she aid down and the next morning. i told her we would make a real deal one this week. so we made it yesterday and she liked it. ladie please. : )

hehe...the second pic cracks me up. looks like she is doing some kind of zombie dance or sumdin.

She has been such a little sweetheart this week. not like thats any diferent form any other week tho. a few instances i noted. Her little brother got a shot monday monday and she said a prayer for him and his flu shot monday before bed. she made a wish on a star wednesday before bed and her wish...well, i cant tell you or it wont come true. you can only tell mommys and daddys. trust me..it was so graceous and wonderful. went to pick her up yesterday and before we left she gave her momma a mess of kises. i said something about how many she gave her and M.J. said "im saving a lot for you". She makes my heart just melt i tell ya.

Lots more to say, but next week it will have to be.

A Veggie Good Weekend

Hello Hello,

i must say i have been so anxious to get here and put up some new stuff. Another weekend has past and boy was it fun. Yup..MaryJane and i went to see the new Veggie Tales flick called "The Pirates Who Dont Do Anything". It is based on characters from the first Veggie Tales movie "Jonah". MaryJane absoulutly loved it and i laughed many a times. it had a decent lesson to it, but the fact it was not based on any biblical storys and made no reference to God was kind of a let down. Still, if you love Veggies like we do you should totally see it. We (mostly i) ate popcorn, wal-mart candy (shhhh!) and drank Dr. Pepper. We were so full and i didnt eat dinner till like 10pm. tooo....much.....popcorn! the cuttiest part of the movie was during this scene where some rock giants come alive MaryJane says "You dont see that everyday". soooo cute. The above pic is before the movie...just a little excited. make sure and check out preivew i posted previous to this. Played the rest of the day. My fav game of the day that she made up was one where we did different races that i made up like crawl to the kitchen backwards, put a pound puppy on your back, and crawl back to the love seat w/o dropping the pup. that was the hardest one. so the winner, which was M.J. everytime, got to pick a sticker for themselves and one for the loser. we then stuck them on a piece of paper and had to write something about the sticker by it. it was crazy, but so much fun. played some school too. here is M.J. w/ Jessica (left) and Maragaret (right) during Art School. What a good class.

Just for fun and just because she is goofy i have to throw in this picture of our cat "ShoSho". She is a Minx that we got 3-4 months ago. She is a good cat, but getting so fat. Maybe ill get a "Normal" pic to post sometime, but for now it her fat belly. haha!

Sunday was church. Good as always. MaryJane wore her christmas (winter) dress, as oppossed to her spring dress last week. silly weather. After that it was off to Mommy's. They went to an art expedition in springdale and she said it was ok. I went to the Razorback game. A little to close for comfort w/ the OT and all, but we won and are now 2-o in the SEC w/ last ranked in the east gamecocks on our menu for wednesday....couldnt be happier. GO HOGS GO!!! I finished up my chore chart last night. ok...so its not really my chore chart, but MaryJane's. Jess thought it would be a good idea if we each made chore charts for her. just simple stuff she can do to help around the house like....well see the chart. its all about teaching her to be responsable and an early start on teaching her about how the job world works. heres how my chart goes down. each week she must do each chore, some more then once, to get a sticker. her choice Disney Princess or My Little Pony. If she fills the whole column for the week she gets $2.50 that she can use to buy what she pleases within reason. she will also be giving 10% to the church. i think it is a great idea and that whe will very educational for her. look forward to starting it today.

So Much To Say...

Well here it is Thursday and im just now getting a chance to put up a new post. We moved into a new office space yesterday and boy was it fun. We just moved bout 6 months ago or sumdin. Anyways, it is a better setup and altho not as private, more comfy. ill get a pic over the weekend to show. lots been happenin this week. M.J. stared Library classes again so that is cool. she goes once a week on thursdays. they have storytime, play games, and do crafts. they are doing a Ben Franklin theme for the spring semester. i just love the first of the year...with all the holidays behind us her activities begin starting back up. just yesterday i confirmed w/ Jess her schedule for Treehouse. This is the homeschool school she attends once a week. she went last semester half days, but this semester, because we all love it so much she is going to attend full days. thats 6 classes on tuesdays starting the 22nd of January. its going to rock. here is what she is lined up for.

Book Club

Young readers will enjoy the opportunity to share their thoughts about books they read alone and together in class. Activities and discussion will help children begin to identify literary elements such as character, plot, setting, theme and so forth. Children need not be strong readers to enjoy participating in class discussion and activities. Reading aloud in class will be done by the instructor.

Grammar Made Fun Again

Students will go on another adventure in grammar. This time the emphasis will be on learning about verbs and adverbs. This will be fun and ignite students in games and writing activities that will make them want to learn more about grammar.

Math Activities Kids Can't Resist

Math fact flowers, duckling number comparisons and more. Irresistible games and activities that provide hands-on practice of essential math skills, such as addition, subtraction, skip -
counting, place value, and measurement.

Cool Crafts/Food Fun!

Every week will be an adventure in creativity! We will use all sorts of materials to craft our way through from the winter blues to sunny spring. Our food fun will be "cooking" that is all done outside the kitchen. We will hear stories and do nature focused food "crafts" on that theme. The best part is we will have something great to snack on! Crafts will also follow the transitions in nature. Both in Food Fun and crafts we will even experience a bit of science!

Science Detectives I

Detectives on television and in books use all kinds of fancy-sounding methods for solving crimes. But they're really not that complicated- we can do many of the same things at Treehouse. We'll learn about how detectives use science to solve crimes, using hands-on activities to practice our own skills (solving make-believe crimes). We will learn how to tell which suspect left those fingerprints, whose shirt that fiber came from, and which mysterious substance got left at the scene of the crime.

Beginning Music, Movement, and Drama

In this fun class we will learn to move our bodies as we explore our creative nature through music, movement, and drama. Students will take part in a variety of activities that encourage them to work together as a group, and yet explore their own personal creativity. This class will prepare a class presentation to share at the end of year Gala.

Her and her mommy are studying Snow Dogs this week. We do themed units each week. They just got a husky the other day so this seemed like the perfect time for this theme. M.J. is having fun with it and is working on a lapbook that i should have a pic or 2 of next week.

oh how i could go on and on about how wonderful our child is and about how smart she is, but you all already know. : )

i have more to talk about, but i will have to save it for another time. i will leave with a sweet pic of my gurl i took this morning. aint she just precious.

Tha Weekend

The first weekend of the new year has past and what a beautiful and fun one it was. MaryJane and i kicked things of Friday by......doing nothing. : ) It was Aladdin 3 (for the 300th time) , grub, and the couch for a while. As you can see someone was plenty comfy. After that is was Care Bear time. Havent been playing with them to much recently so it was good to break some of them out. It was a Care Bear school kinda game. each one had a worksheet or game to do and if they did it right they got one of the cards you see in front of them. they have nuimbers on the back that M.J. wrote anbd that was how many points they won.

So on to Saturday. We went out to Cody and Robis for lunch. MaryJane and i made a super salad befoire leaving. She was the official taste tester of each ingrediant. She rated each veggie from 1 to 10. the yellow pepper was the only 10, but we had some other good scores as well. : ) so we took ourselves and out salad out and had lasagna that robi made too. it was nummy. played board games after that for....oh about 2 1/2 hours. M.J. could get enough of it. She had a wonderful time. We got home and surprise surprise...Samantha was outside. Samantha is M.J.'s best friend and they havent got much time to play w/ the cold weather. being it was like mid 60's or something tho Samantha and her friend Stephanie were out. when Samantha and M.J. havent seen each other for a while they do this cute thing where they both yell out each others name while running as fast as they can towards one another. they clash in the biggest hug. it is truly precious. they played outside till about dark. samantha is in the middle below.

Sunday it was off to fabulous church at Fellowship in Lowell. M.J sported a spring dress, w/ the once again nice weather, Kelly Bear, and some Webkinz. She spent almost the whole afternoon outside w/ Samantha. i say a good 3 plus hours. They had so much fun together playing Barbies, Games, School, and even Police. Those 2 sure had fun. Took MaryJane to Mommy's house after dark to meet up w/ some guys from community group to see "I am Legend" at the new Malco in Fayetteville. Was good to see the guys. It was an overall good flick, but could have been better. iwould say 2 3/4 stars. : ) i would see it if i were u, but wait for the dvd.

Inn of the Last Home

I think it only appropriate i familiarize you all a bit w/ your surroundings when visitng the Inn. I have included here a brief description of the Inn of the Last home, a floor plan, a few picutres from a far, and a link for those who care to learn even more about the Inn.
The Inn of the Last Home is a tavern in Solace that is famous for its wonderful food and ale, as well as being the meeting place of the Heroes of the Lance. It has seen several owners and a number of incarnations, but is still one of the coziest and most welcome inns for anyone wandering through Abanasinia.

Happy New Year!!!

Today is my first day of "blogging" and i am just so excited (and unexperianced). Thanks to my super cool parents i got a handy dandy digi cam, which is waht i was requiring to get this rolling. Thanks also to Jess for inviting me to blogspot and getting me hooked.

So yesterday was New Years Day 2008 and it was a wonderful start to what is going to be a great year. I spent the day with my beloved child. here is where we spent most of our morning, playing stuffed animals and barbies.

After that it was off to Aunt Dianas to play and watch the Cotton Bowl, which we will not discuss. Had a good time. Diana has to Cats that MaryJane adores.

After the game we decided it was time to check out the "washenshen" (the claw skill game) at Hastings. When full it is probably the easiest to win from. Our last major attemt at it got us 7 new stuffed animals. Well, low and behold we did it again....7 more animals. Robi asked me how many stuffed animals MaryJane had at Christams. She asked "over 100" and the more i thought about it i bet she has over 200. need to do an officall count. hehe. anyways...stuffed animals rule!

MaryJane asked me to post this for everyone to see. A hello Kitty Puzzle by MaryJane. How cute!

So we finished of the day with playtime at the house. Gave MaryJane some good back rides. We have this thing right now where she gets on and i say "please deposit 1 quarter". So then she pokes me in the sides a bunch of times as tho she is depositing the quaters. i then follow by say "you deposited 1000 (or more) quarters. Hold on for dear life" and then go crazy like im overloading. She loves it.

So there ya have it. My first day of blogging and the first day of the year. As the new year progresses i hope to get better with my pictures, and my writing, and overall presentaion. i will also be making improvments to the inn in general. Heres to a Great 2008!
